Weekly Plenaries + Healing Circles

person stands with a sign that says blacklives matter. black translives matter

Definition: Plenary - (of a meeting) to be attended by all participants at a conference or assembly, who otherwise meet in smaller groups.

If nothing else, the disparate impact of COVID-19 and the continued violence against Black and Brown folx reinforces the need for us to listen and be in community with one another. With everything going on right now, it can be especially challenging to find moments for stillness, for reflection and restoration. INW is therefore convening Weekly Plenaries as recurring discussion opportunities for anyone and everyone committed to exploring:

  • How to use IDEAS as a framework to anchor our responses to the challenges and opportunities ahead

  • Ways to mobilize in solidarity with those disproportionately affected

  • Self-care practices for ourselves and others to combat burn-out, fear, anxiety, and overwhelm

  • How we can combat systems of oppression such as racism, xenophobia, transphobia, homophobia, and ableism, amongst other forms of intolerance and discrimination, in our workplaces - and beyond

Our Healing Circles are specially curated spaces requested by many in the community, and led by our very own Ymani Hawkins (DEEP-ish) and Desi Carson (PsychoHairapy/INW), we're extremely excited to bring you a much-anticipated space that is specifically designed for healing, community, grounding, creative expression, and self-care.
